PARTNERS CONTINUE TO ASSIST SAINT LUCIA IN COMBATING THE COVID-19 VIRUS.
The Ministry of Health and Wellness recently welcomed a donation of personal protective equipment (PPEs) from the Caribbean Doctors Association.
The personal protective equipment PPEs will be distributed to various organisations to aid in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health Benson Emile expressed heartfelt gratitude to the organization for the donation and hopes the relationship will grow beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.
“As a ministry responsible for servicing all our clinical institutions, responsible for servicing other agencies of government with PPEs, as well as the distribution to other agencies, institutions, outside of government. Our responsibility in the COVID-19 response is to protect the lives of Saint Lucians and PPEs have proven to be an effective approach, hence the reason we require constant supply of that piece of protective equipment.”
Secretary General of the Caribbean Doctors Association, Keats Compton, said his organization remains committed to fostering medical cooperation with Saint Lucia and other OECS islands.
“I am very pleased to be able to stand here and handover these 30, 000 masks to the Ministry of Health and we sincerely hope that we will be able to in the future to make further contributions not necessarily from V6CO but working with the University Hospital of Martinique and Guadeloupe as well.”
The Caribbean Doctors Association made a donation of 30,000 KN95 masks supplied by V6CO.
