2024 MASTERS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME IN CHILE

 

The Department of Education, Innovation and Vocational Training informs of the opening of the call for the 2024 Masters Scholarship Programme in Chile, offered by the Chilean Agency for International Cooperation and Development (AGCID).

 

Applicants should note that all courses under the above-mentioned programme will take place in Chile.  In light of this, interested applicants should be able to speak, read and write proficiently in the Spanish language.

 

CRITERIA FOR GRANTING SCHOLARSHIPS

 

To be eligible for selection an applicant must:

  • be a citizen of Saint Lucia;
  • be proficient in Spanish which is the language of instruction;
  • have two (2) or more years of experience in the indicated field or similar; and

 

BENEFITS OF SCHOLARSHIP

 

The following are applicable to all successful applicants for the duration of their studies in Chile:

 

  • Tuition (please note that there is a limit of four academic semesters, or six academic quarters, depending on the scheduling used by the respective institution);
  • A monthly allowance of support of five hundred thousand Chilean pesos ($560,000)/USD660.84.  This allowance shall be paid exclusively for the duration of the programme applicable to the grantee, with a limit of twenty-four (24) months;
  • Life, health and accident insurance with the entitlement to receive care through the Chilean public health system services;
  • Ninety thousand Chilean pesos ($90,000)/USD106.21 for texts and study material; and
  • An allowance equal to two hundred, sixty thousand Chilean pesos ($260,000)/USD306.82, to support the expenses of thesis preparation on compliance with the similar requirement demanded by the institution of higher education to grant the respective academic degree.

 

Please note that AGCID shall not pay any expense not covered by the above listing.  It will therefore be the responsibility of the scholarship holder to finance any other expenses that he/she must incur for visa formalities, application costs to Chilean higher education institutions, air boarding fees or other taxes, costs for travel or transfers to your country during the course of the scholarship, etc.

 

 

APPLICATION PROCESS

 

Scholarship applicants should have applied to a University in Chile and gained their letter of acceptance at the time of submission of applications to the Embassy. Applicants are required to submit the following for selection of the scholarship programme:

 

  1.  Completed and signed applications.  Application form can be accessed via: https://tinyurl.com/chileappform
  2. A letter of acceptance from the Chilean University to which the candidate applied;
  3. Physical and psychological health.  Medical Declaration Form can be accessed via: https://tinyurl.com/chilemedform
  4. Certified copies of degrees or qualifications;
  5. Curriculum Vitae;
  6. A brief explanation for the purpose of study in Chile;
  7. A brief description of possible topic for the candidate’s thesis;
  8. An academic reference letter;
  9. A police clearance certifying that there are no pending cases of police and/or judicial nature;
  10. Sponsorship letter from the employer expressing their interest for the employee to pursue the course and granting permission for the applicant to be absent during the duration of the scholarship and whether said applicant’s position will be retained or not upon return.
